Job summary

Prime Healthcare is seeking a Hospital Maintenance Technician III in Mesquite, TX. This role is responsible for advanced maintenance and repairs on systems including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing. You will also assist in emergency responses and facility projects.

Required qualifications include five years of experience in healthcare settings and certification in healthcare engineering trades. Full-time position with benefits such as health insurance and paid leave.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience in an acute healthcare setting preferred.
• Able to troubleshoot, read schematics, and/or blueprints.
• Valid state driver’s license.
• Certified and/or licensed in a specified trade related to healthcare engineering.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
• Quickly respond to emergency repair requests to restore hospital operations.
• Regularly test critical hospital safety systems to ensure functionality.
• Assist with hospital renovation and construction projects.

Overview

We are seeking a Hospital Maintenance Technician III,alsoreferredto asaPlant Operations TechnicianIIIorBoiler Operator III. The Hospital Maintenance Tech III is responsible for advanced maintenance and repairs on hospital systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety equipment to ensure a safe and operational healthcare environment. This role also supports emergency response, preventive maintenance, and facility projects while coordinating with staff and contractors to minimize disruption to patient care.

Hours:8-hour shifts – 7:00am to 3:30pm when on call 8:00am to 4:30pm when not on call

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

• Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical,medical gas,and other systems
• Quickly respond to emergency repair requests, such as system malfunctions or equipment breakdowns, to restore hospital operations without compromising patient care
• Regularly inspect and test critical hospital safety systems such as backup generators, fire alarm systems, emergency lighting, and life safety equipment to ensure they are functional and compliant with safety standards
• Preventative Maintenance, during regular inspections and checks to prevent breakdowns, like lubricating motors, testing generators, or checking emergency lighting
• Assistwith hospital renovation and construction projects; coordinate work with contractors as needed

Qualifications

1. Five (5) years experience in an acute healthcare setting preferred
2. Able to troubleshoot, read schematics, and/or blue prints.
3. Valid state driver’s license.
4. Certified and/or licensed in a specified trade that is relative to healthcare engineering (Steam boiler, HVAC, etc)
5. High School Diploma or equivalent required
