Job summary

Lancaster Behavioral Health Hospital in Lancaster, PA is seeking a Patient Account Representative to manage insurance verification, billing, and claims submission on-site. The role supports patient access and reimbursement processes.

You will work with EDI systems, EPIC, and payer portals, bring 1–2 years of healthcare customer service experience, and contribute to accurate financial interactions while delivering compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Healthcare billing experience required.
• Associate’s Degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
• Experience processing electronic claims and appealing denials.
• Experience with EDI, Waystar, EPIC, Payer Portals, and Navinet preferred.
• 1-2 years of customer service experience in healthcare required.

Job description

Lancaster Behavioral Health Hospital (LBHH) is a 126-bed, inpatient psychiatric hospital and start-up joint venture between Lancaster General Health/Penn Medicine and Universal Health Services.

In addition to a general adult unit and dedicated adolescent unit, the facility offers services for treating those with co-occurring disorders on the psychiatric-medical unit, an intensive adult unit to care for those with severe conditions, as well as a women’s trauma unit.

**This position is NOT remote!**

Patient Account Representatives are responsible for completing the following duties and tasks:

• Insurance Verification
• Billing and Claim submission
• Ability to perform processes, including but not limited to, batching Financial Assistance correspondence/documents, processing
• Financial Assistance adjustments, processing Financial Assistance determination correspondence, updating accounts.
