The Patient Account Biller is responsible for the billing, follow-up, and collection of assigned patient accounts by contacting patients, insurance companies and third-party payors

Qualifications

• Associates degree preferred; minimum 1 year experience in professional/accounting setting.
• Experience with patient billing, coding or posting receivables is a plus.
• Familiarity with third-party payors and collection practices is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Billing, follow-up, and collection of assigned patient accounts by contacting patients, insurance companies and third-party payors to resolve balances.
• Coordinate with collection agencies for bad debt recovery and maintain third-party logs.
• May code and post receivables from patient insurance and third-party payors on patient accounts.
