Job summary

Lancaster Behavioral Health Hospital (LBHH) is a 126-bed inpatient psychiatric hospital and a joint venture between Lancaster General Health/Penn Medicine and Universal Health Services.

As a Patient Account Representative, you will handle insurance verification, financial counseling, billing and claim submission, and related processing tasks. The role supports patients and the hospital’s financial health within LBHH.

Qualifications

• Healthcare billing experience required.
• Associate’s Degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
• 1-2 years of customer service experience in healthcare.
• Experience processing electronic claims and appealing claim denials.
• Experience with EDI, Waystar, EPIC, Payer Portals, Navinet preferred.

Responsibilities

Lancaster Behavioral Health Hospital (LBHH) is a 126-bed, inpatient psychiatric hospital and start-up joint venture between Lancaster General Health/Penn Medicine and Universal Health Services.

In addition to a general adult unit and dedicated adolescent unit, the facility offers services for treating those with co-occurring disorders on the psychiatric-medical unit, an intensive adult unit to care for those with severe conditions, as well as a women's trauma unit.

Patient Account Representatives are responsible for completing the following duties and tasks:

• Insurance Verification
• Financial Counseling
• Billing and Claim submission
• Ability to perform processes, including but not limited to, batching Financial Assistance correspondence/documents, processing
• Financial Assistance adjustments, processing Financial Assistance determination correspondence, updating accounts.

• Healthcare Billing experience required.
• Associate’s Degree in related field or equivalent work experience in field.
• Experience processing electronic claims and appealing claims denials.
• Experience with EDI, Waystar, EPIC, Payer Portals, and Navinet preferred.
• 1-2 years Customer Service experience in healthcare required.
