Job summary

UofL Health in Louisville, KY is seeking a Hospital-Based Registered Nurse to provide bedside care across adult and pediatric patients, using established nursing processes and standards.

Under the supervision of a nurse manager, you will assess patients, administer medications, plan and evaluate care with the care team, educate patients and families, and contribute to patient safety and quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program is required.
• New-hire Associates must start a BSN program within one year of hire and complete within three years.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred.
• Current KY RN licensure or compact license is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required; PALS/ACLS may be required for specific clinical areas.

Responsibilities

• Conducts systematic, continuous and comprehensive assessments from admission to discharge.
• Administers medications per licensure authority and documents administration timely.
• Plans care with patient and family using current knowledge and goals.
• Identifies and prioritizes patient problems with the care team and medical plan.
• Implements nursing interventions to meet patient care needs and safety goals.
• Evaluates care and teaches patients and families; collaborates with care team to improve outcomes.
• Advocates for patient and family rights and prepares for discharge.
• Collaborates with licensed and unlicensed staff to ensure safe delivery of care.
