Qualifications

• Experience communicating with the public is preferred.

• Proficient in operating common office machines.

Responsibilities

• Registers patients efficiently and courteously at admission, transfer, and discharge.
• Greet patients and visitors in person or by phone.
• Provide hospital information per guidelines and secure signatures when required.
• Operate telephone and paging systems and maintain records.
• Determine patient needs and direct to appropriate department or arrange transportation.
• Maintain inpatient roster by name, bed number, and religious preference; report admissions/discharges.
• Manage elective admission schedules and notify patients when rooms are available.
• Prepare admission, payment, and discharge records; pull patient charts.
• Maintain appointment schedules; handle money and receipts.
• Keep hospital keys secure and assist patients to/from vehicles.
• Operate office equipment and perform other related duties.
