Job summary

Gentiva Hospice seeks a compassionate Volunteer Coordinator to recruit, train, supervise, and support volunteers providing essential services to patients and families. You will ensure compliance with hospice regulations and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include supervising volunteer activity, coordinating placements, orientations, and trainings, maintaining records, and participating in quality improvement activities.

Qualifications

• CPR certification required.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
• Strong organizational and record-keeping abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Public speaking and group facilitation skills beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Supervise all volunteer activity in the designated service area.
• Ensure compliance with Medicare Hospice Conditions of Participation 5% volunteer requirement.
• Assess patient and family needs and coordinate volunteer placements.
• Recruit, train, and retain Administrative, Direct Care, Vigil, and Bereavement volunteers.
• Facilitate volunteer orientation and annual trainings.
