Job summary

Compassus seeks a dedicated Volunteer Coordinator to lead and supervise our volunteer program. The role focuses on recruiting, training, and retaining volunteers while aligning with Compassus values and regulatory requirements.

You will coordinate patient and family needs, participate in interdisciplinary care planning, and deliver ongoing education to volunteers. This position emphasizes collaboration, ethical conduct, and program quality across departments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Colleague degree (AS or BS) preferred.
• Experience in Social Services, Human Services, Resource Management or related field preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Interviews, hires, trains, supervises, and retains volunteers.
• Plan, assign, and direct volunteer workload.
• Appraise performance and address complaints.
• Coordinate patient and family needs for volunteer services.
• Develop and implement plan of care for volunteers.
• Prepare reports and conduct in-services for volunteers.
• Recruit volunteers and ensure background checks and health screenings are completed.
