Job summary

Compassus is seeking a Volunteer Coordinator to supervise and support the volunteer program within the hospice team. You will interview, hire, train, and retain volunteers while coordinating volunteer workload to align with patient care needs.

In this role, you will ensure background checks and health screenings are completed, maintain program records, and deliver ongoing training and reports to demonstrate impact and value to the organization.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Colleague degree (AS or BS) preferred.
• Experience in Social Services, Human Services, Resource Management or related field is preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage volunteers within the program.
• Interview, hire, train, and retain volunteers.
• Coordinate volunteer workload with patient care needs.
• Ensure background checks and health screenings are completed.
• Prepare reports and in-services on volunteer impact.
• Monitor volunteer utilization and plan of care involvement.
• Deliver training and community outreach.
