Job summary

Superior Hospice is hiring a Hospice On-Call Registered Nurse (RN) in Buffalo. The role operates on a 7 days on / 7 days off rotation, with evening and overnight on-call shifts.

Expect independent clinical decision-making, rapid response to urgent symptoms, and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team to ensure high-quality hospice care. You will provide symptom management, patient education, and support to families, while maintaining accurate EMR documentation and excellent communication

Qualifications

• Active Minnesota RN license required.
• Hospice nursing experience preferred.
• Experience in home health, oncology, ICU, or palliative care valued.
• Strong assessment, critical thinking and independent decision-making.
• Excellent communication and crisis management abilities.
• Able to work evenings, overnights, weekends and holidays on a 7-on/7-off rotation.

Responsibilities

• Respond to after-hours calls and urgent patient needs within the service area.
• Complete emergency hospice visits to assess condition changes and manage symptoms.
• Provide pain management, medication administration, wound care and comfort nursing interventions.
• Offer compassionate telephone support and education to patients, families, and caregivers.
• Coordinate with physicians and hospice team to ensure continuity of care.
• Complete accurate and timely EMR documentation.
