Job summary

Stella Maris Inc. in Timonium, MD is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner to support our Inpatient Hospice Unit and Home Hospice divisions. This part-time/PRN role offers the opportunity to work with a dedicated hospice team to meet the needs of patients in the community.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of hospice experience, MD NP license, and strong leadership during care planning and patient-family communication. Collaborative care and proactive rounds are expected.

Qualifications

• Maryland NP license required.
• Hospice experience is required and/or five years of recent experience in a medical/surgical setting, a hospital, oncology or geriatric facility.
• At least 3 years of hospice experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical care in the Inpatient Hospice Unit and Home Hospice division.
• Take medical histories, perform physical examinations, order and interpret labs/tests.
• Write admission orders and transfer summaries; coordinate with specialists.
• Collaborate with physicians and other clinicians; participate in team conferences.
• Explain medical conditions and plans to patients and families; support coping with anxieties.
• Lead and collaborate with nursing staff to implement care plans.
