Job summary

Amedisys Home Health in Massachusetts seeks a licensed physician (MD or DO) to oversee hospice patient care with a multidisciplinary team. You will conduct assessments, lead goals-of-care conversations, educate families on end-of-life options, and ensure regulatory compliance and accurate medical records.

You will supervise Nurse Practitioners, participate in team meetings, provide on-call coverage, and coordinate with hospitals and other providers to ensure smooth transitions for hospice

Qualifications

• Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school.
• Current, unencumbered license to practice in the relevant state.
• Membership in good standing on the medical staff of at least one contracted hospital.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive, face-to-face assessments with patients and manage symptoms.
• Oversee patient admissions, discharges, certifications, recertifications and medication management.
• Lead goals of care discussions with patients and families when appropriate.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to develop and update care plans for hospice patients.
• Provide on-call coverage for medical emergencies and coordinate with other physicians at the care center.
