Job summary

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree required.
• Unencumbered TX medical license required.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Membership in good standing on medical staff of at least one contracted hospital.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive, face-to-face hospice assessments and manage pain and symptoms.
• Coordinate admissions, certifications, and recertifications with the care team.
• Lead goals-of-care discussions with patients and families.
• Maintain medical records and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Provide on-call coverage for medical emergencies and consultations.
• Educate families about hospice philosophy and end-of-life options.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, social workers, chaplains and hospice aides.
