Job summary

Westminster-Canterbury on Chesapeake Bay & Senior Options, LLC in Virginia Beach, VA, is seeking an Administrator of the Hospice House. This exempt, salaried role reports to the VP of External Health Services and oversees all clinical and operational functions of the inpatient hospice facility.

The ideal candidate will have an active Virginia RN license, 3–5 years hospice/long-term care leadership, and strong knowledge of CHAP/Joint Commission standards, with a focus on quality and compassionate

Qualifications

• Current unencumbered Registered Nurse license in Virginia.
• Minimum of 3–5 years hospice, palliative care, home health, inpatient, or long-term care clinical experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of leadership, supervisory, or management experience.
• Strong knowledge of hospice regulations, end-of-life care, symptom management, and interdisciplinary care planning.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to analyze clinical, quality, staffing, and operational data.
• Strong computer skills, including Electronic Medical Records.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all clinical operations within the hospice house, ensuring excellence in patient care and adherence to hospice philosophy.
• Ensure care is delivered in accordance with the hospice plan of care, patient goals, regulatory requirements, and organizational standards.
• Ensure compliance with Medicare CoPs, state regulations, and accreditation standards (e.g., CHAP, Joint Commission).
• Support timely patient admissions, discharges, level-of-care changes, and coordination with referral sources.
• Lead QAPI initiatives, including clinical audits, incident review, and performance improvement plans.
• Monitor census, referral trends, level of care utilization, and occupancy.
• Provide direct supervision, coaching, and performance management for Hospice House clinical staff.
• Maintain ongoing survey readiness and participate in audits, mock surveys, and corrective action planning.
