Job summary

Westminster-Canterbury on Chesapeake Bay seeks an Administrator for the Dozoretz Hospice House in Virginia. This full-time on-site role leads clinical and operational functions, ensuring compassionate, compliant hospice care and smooth daily operations.

You will supervise staff, manage budgets, coordinate patient care plans, and partner with executive leadership to support census growth and service quality. Relocation assistance is available for qualified applicants.

Qualifications

Current unencumbered RN license in the state of Virginia (or a compact state) required.
Minimum of 3–5 years hospice, palliative care, home health, inpatient, or long-term care clinical experience.
Minimum of 2 years of leadership, supervisory, or management experience.
Strong knowledge of hospice regulations, end-of-life care, symptom management, and interdisciplinary care planning.
Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage conflict, hold staff accountable, and drive performance improvement.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with Electronic Medical Records.

Responsibilities

Oversee clinical operations within the hospice house, ensuring excellence in patient care and adherence to hospice philosophy.
Ensure care is delivered per plan of care, patient goals, regulatory requirements, and organizational standards.
Ensure compliance with Medicare CoPs, state regulations, and accreditation standards (CHAP, Joint Commission).
Support timely patient admissions, discharges, and level-of-care changes; coordinate with referral sources.
Lead QAPI initiatives, including clinical audits, incident review, and performance improvement plans.
Provide supervision, coaching, and performance management for Hospice House clinical staff.
Monitor census, referral trends, and occupancy; assist with budget planning and resource allocation.
Maintain ongoing survey readiness and participate in audits and corrective action planning.
