Goodwin Living in Alexandria, Virginia, invites an experienced RN leader to join our hospice team. You will oversee the clinical staff, ensure high-quality patient care, and coordinate services with physicians and caregivers.

The role emphasizes staff development, compliance, and compassionate communication with patients and families. The position requires Virginia RN licensure, 5+ years in nursing, and demonstrated leadership.

Qualifications

• RN licensed by Virginia Dept of Health, with minimum 5 years’ nursing experience.
• Hospice/palliative care experience preferred.
• Proven leadership and organizational ability to implement program development.
• Ability to address needs of terminally ill residents and families.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and training others.

Responsibilities

• Oversee clinical team including nurses, social workers, and counselors.
• Serve as primary contact for patients and families, communicating care plans and changes.
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams and conduct regular case conferences.
• Ensure compliance with regulations, standards and policies; monitor quality and safety.
• Identify training needs and organize in-service sessions and education.
• Monitor staff performance, provide feedback, and support improvement.
• Ensure accurate documentation of patient care plans and progress notes.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and new program development.
