Job summary

Hospice of Washington County is seeking a Registered Nurse in a float pool capacity to deliver direct patient care under supervision of the care team. The RN develops and implements nursing plans, administers medications and IV therapy, and documents patient progress in the medical record.

Collaboration with physicians and Hospice staff ensures quality end-of-life care. Required is an Associate Degree in Nursing with Maryland RN licensure; BSN preferred and a Bachelor’s degree to be completed

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
• Interpersonal communication to educate and comfort patients and families; document appropriately.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care per nursing plan of care.
• Administer medications, IV therapy and treatments.
• Communicate patient status to physicians and health-care team.
• Coordinate daily patient assignments and care activities.
• Participate in teaching and discharge planning.
