Job summary

The Float Nurse is a vital member of the hospice interdisciplinary team who provides flexible clinical support across assigned service areas. This role supports patient visits, coverage needs, and care coordination to enhance workflow and patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current Registered Nurse license in the applicable state.
• CPR certification (current).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with the team.
• Experience in public health, home care, or hospice nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete baseline patient visits with daily priorities set by leadership.
• Provide hospice nursing care in homes, facilities, and other settings.
• Perform comprehensive assessments and monitor patient condition.
• Recognize changes in patient status and communicate needs to the team.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and care planning.
• Deliver education and support to patients, families, and caregivers.
• Ensure timely, accurate clinical documentation.
• Maintain compliance with hospice regulations and policies.
• Promote compassionate, patient-centered care.
