Responsibilities

Our Hospice Nursing Aides assist with personal care routines such as changing bedding and clothing, bathing patients, and maintaining wound dressings. They may also support family members by instructing them on basic healthcare routines. Nursing Aides regularly consult with supervising registered nurses to update on patient progress and family needs.

Qualifications

Must meet one of the following:

1. Minimum of 1 year of full-time experience in direct client care in an institutional setting (hospital or nursing facility)
2. 1 year of recent experience (within the last 5 years) in home health or hospice care
3. Completion of a federally and state-regulated training and competency evaluation program
4. Registration and good standing on the Nurse Aide Registry in the state of employment

Additional requirements include:

• Valid driver’s license, automobile insurance, and reliable transportation
• Ability to recognize patient needs, maintain good relationships, and communicate effectively with supervisors
