Job summary

Amedisys in Missouri is seeking a dedicated hospice aide to work full-time days in patients' homes. You will provide compassionate personal care, monitor conditions, and assist with daily living activities under RN supervision.

The role includes meal planning, light homemaking, and documenting changes in patient status. A valid CNA and CPR certification, with a valid driver's license, are required. Benefits include medical plans, PTO, and a company 401(k) match.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current state CNA certification/registration as per state requirements.
• CNA experience within the last two years.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and liability insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care services to patients.
• Applies safety principles and proper body mechanics for activities such as ambulation and transfers, and assists with household chores.
• Plans and prepares nutritious meals, assists with feeding.
• Performs homemaking and other environmental services as assigned.
• Observes, reports, and documents changes in patient status and reports to the primary nurse.
• Follows written instructions for personal care prepared by a registered nurse.
• Assists patients with prescribed exercises as instructed by a nurse or therapist.
• Performs and records simple urine tests for sugar, acetone, and albumin.
• Other duties as assigned.
