Job summary

Amedisys is seeking a hospice aide to provide compassionate personal care to patients in their homes in West Virginia. You will follow the plan of care, assist with meals and daily living activities, and document changes in patients’ status under supervision of a registered nurse.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Current state CNA certification is required.
• CNA experience within the last two years is required.
• Current CPR certification is required.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and liability insurance are required.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care services to patients.
• Applies safety principles and proper body mechanics during care tasks.
• Plans and prepares nutritious meals and assists with feeding.
• Performs homemaking and other environmental services.
• Observes, reports, and documents changes in patient status.
• Follows written instructions from the nurse/plan of care before delivering services.
• Assists patients with prescribed exercises as instructed by nurse or therapist.
• Performs simple urine tests for sugar, acetone, and albumin.
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills

CNA experience (last 2 years)

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Current state CNA certification

Current CPR certification
