Job summary
Amedisys Hospice is seeking a CNA Hospice Aide to deliver compassionate personal care to patients at home. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, with standard home health duties and patient support.
Responsibilities include assisting with meals, transfers, ambulation, observing patient status, and reporting changes to the nurse. The position offers competitive hourly pay and comprehensive benefits.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current state CNA certification/registration.
- CNA experience within the last two years.
- Current CPR certification.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Responsibilities
- Provides personal care services to patients.
- Applies safety principles and proper body mechanics during care.
- Plans and prepares nutritious meals and assists with feeding.
- Performs homemaking and environmental services as assigned.
- Observes and reports changes in patient status to the primary nurse.
- Follows written instructions for personal care from the registered nurse.
- Assists patients with prescribed exercises as instructed by nurse or therapist.
- Performs and records simple urine tests for sugar, acetone, and albumin.
- Other duties as assigned.
