Job summary

Affinity Hospice Holdings, LLC is seeking a dedicated hospice aide (CNA) to join our team, providing patient-centered care in home settings under RN supervision. You will observe, report, and document patient needs to promote comfort and well-being.

The role requires strong empathy, CPR certification, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Full-time, travel locally, and participation in rotation may be required.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Meet the training and certification requirements of the State.
• Possess and maintain current CPR certification.
• Licensed driver with automobile that is insured in accordance with organization requirements and is in good working order.
• Able to show empathy for the needs of the ill, injured, frail and the impaired.
• Prolonged standing and walking required, with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform personal care tasks after patient assignment and attend to requests.
• Meet safety needs of patients and use equipment safely.
• Perform personal care tasks including baths, back rubs, oral hygiene, shampoos, and changing bed linen as often as assigned.
• Assist in dressing and undressing patients as assigned.
• Assist in feeding the patient as assigned.
• Assess and report on patients’ condition and significant changes to the case manager.
• Adhere to the organization's documentation and care procedures and standards of personal and professional conduct.
• The hospice aide will not function in any manner, viewed as the practice of nursing according to the Nurse Practice Act.
• Specifically, the hospice aide will not administer medications, take physician's orders or perform procedures requiring the training, knowledge and skill of a licensed nurse, such as sterile techniques.
• Perform other CNA duties as assigned by management to support department goals and initiatives.
