Job summary

Apploi is seeking a Hospice Chaplain to provide spiritual care to patients and families, coordinating with the interdisciplinary team in a compassionate, inclusive setting.

The role involves direct spiritual care, collaboration with community chaplains, and leadership in memorial services within a hospice program. A Masters in theology and CPE are preferred, with hospice experience a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in religious studies or related subject and a master's in theology/divinity/pastoral studies.
• Certification/ordination with endorsement for chaplaincy preferred.
• Ongoing commitment to education and CPE.
• Hospice care experience preferred.
• Interfaith sensitivity and respect for diverse beliefs.

Responsibilities

• Assesses spiritual needs of patients and families and coordinates timely services.
• Develops the plan of care with the interdisciplinary team.
• Provides direct spiritual care to patients and families.
• Liaises with community chaplains and spiritual counselors.
• Maintains records of spiritual care services for QA and policy review.
• Documents direct services and communication with chaplains.
• Attends IDG meetings and contributes to care planning.
• Provides consultation and education to the interdisciplinary group.
• Recruits community chaplains and volunteers.
• Plans memorial and funeral services as needed.
• Supervises spiritual care volunteers as assigned.

Education

Bachelor's degree in religious studies or related subject; Master's in theology, divinity or pastoral studies (72 semester hours, internship or 1 unit of CPE)

Certification/ordination with endorsement for chaplaincy (preferred)

Ongoing commitment to education and CPE

Hospice care experience (preferred)

Interfaith sensitivity and cultural competency
