Job summary

Carolinas Medical Center is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant for a full-time PM shift (11:00 AM–11:00 PM) in the 35811 Aurora St. Lukes South Shore - Med Surg: IU 3rd Floor area.

The role includes room setup, patient orientation, vital signs, and basic care under supervision, with weekend and holiday rotation. Requirements include a High School diploma or equivalent, CPR certification, and completion of a CAN program preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of CAN program preferred.
• CPR certification required.
• Knowledge of basic computer keyboard functions is preferred.
• Courteous and professional interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrate responsible and ethical behaviors consistent with hospital values.

Responsibilities

• Sets up patient's room.
• Orients patient and family to room, including bed functions, call lights, TV and telephone.
• Obtains vital signs including height and weight.
• During admission/transfer/discharge ensures patient belongings are documented.
• Provides general patient care under supervision of Hospice nurse or Clinical Supervisor.
• Assists with bathing, toileting, positioning, ROM, and transfers.
• Responds to call lights and patient requests; assists with catheter care and specimen transport.
• Documents patient care and ensures confidentiality per HIPAA requirements.
