Job summary

Compassus is seeking a Hospice Care Consultant to grow market share by building strong relationships with healthcare providers and driving admissions. The role focuses on opening new accounts and expanding existing ones, with compassionate engagement of patients and families throughout the process.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in Business and 5+ years of sales experience, preferably in hospice or healthcare. Travel may be required to manage the defined book of business.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business strongly preferred.
• Five (5) plus years of successful sales experience with a track record of meeting/exceeding goals.
• Experience in Hospice, Home Health, or Healthcare industry preferred, but top-performing sales professionals encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Drive significant growth within the assigned book of business by opening new accounts and expanding existing accounts.
• Secure referrals from physicians, staff, and administrators and partner with the operations team to ensure all clinically-eligible patients are rapidly admitted.
• Take full ownership of meeting or exceeding weekly performance goals and grow productivity to align with tenure-based expectations.
• Cultivate and manage strong, trust-based relationships with referral sources using a consultative sales approach.
• Show compassion and empathy to patients and families; maintain resilience with emotional challenges in hospice care.
• Be prepared to work outside standard business hours to ensure timely support for patients.
• Seek feedback from referral sources on service levels and relay insights to the operations team for continuous improvement.
• Demonstrate adaptability to changes in priorities and team structure as needed.
• Provide clinical training and education to referral partners about hospice care.
