Job summary

Affinity Hospice Management LLC in Brunswick, ME seeks a compassionate hospice aide to assist patients under the supervision of a registered nurse. You will follow the patient’s care plan to meet personal needs and promote comfort while documenting observations and care performed.

Responsibilities include assisting with personal care, bathing, feeding as assigned, ensuring safety, and reporting changes to the RN Case Manager.

Qualifications

• Completion of a state approved certified nursing assistant course or equivalent training.
• Nursing Assistant Certified (NAC).
• Current Healthcare Provider CPR certification (hands-on, not internet-based).
• Current Food Handlers Permit.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care.
• Understands hospice philosophy and comfort with terminally ill care.
• Prior hospice/long-term care experience preferred (1 year).
• Basic computer skills to document in EMR.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Licensed driver with insured vehicle in good working order.

Responsibilities

• Perform personal care and respond promptly per patient plan.
• Provide respectful communication with patient and family, maintain confidentiality.
• Ensure safety and use equipment properly.
• Assist with bathing, hygiene, and linen changes.
• Assist in dressing and feeding as assigned.
• Report changes to the RN Case Manager.
• Assist in ambulation and ROM as directed by nurse.
• Document observations and care performed in EMR.
• Maintain clean living area and proper infection control.
• Participate in quality improvement activities.
