Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• State-approved and federally compliant training with competency evaluation.
• At least 1 year of experience as an aide in home care, hospice, or facility.
• Current Ohio STNA certification or documented equivalent.
• Completion of a 75-hour Home Health Aide/Hospice Aide training program with competency evaluation.
• Meets agency hiring standards and provides professional references.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Commitment to agency policies and ethics.

Responsibilities

• Follow RN-created care plans and report changes promptly.
• Assist with personal care including bathing, grooming, mobility, and toileting.
• Help with light housekeeping and meal prep as needed.
• Record vital signs when ordered and document visits the same day.
• Support simple therapy activities and safe use of home equipment.
• Assist with self‑medication under RN guidance, never administer.
• Maintain professional communication with clients, families, and care team.
