Job summary

St. Joseph Hospice is hiring a Full-time Hospice Aide (CNA) in Gulfport, MS. You will assist with mobility, transfers, grooming, bathing, and daily activities under nurse supervision.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Current CNA certification in Mississippi.
• Minimum six months of direct care experience.
• CPR certification required.
• Have dependable transportation, valid driver’s license and auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Assists with mobility, transfers, walking, grooming, bathing, dressing, or undressing, eating and toileting.
• Assists with safe use of walker or wheelchair under nurse/therapist supervision.
• Maintains infection control practices and reports unsafe situations.
• Reports changes in patient condition to RN and interdisciplinary team.

Job Duties:

• Provides assistance with mobility, transferring, walking, grooming, bathing, dressing, or undressing, eating and toileting
• Assists with the safe use of a walker or wheelchair as taught and supervised by the nurse or physical therapist for a specific patient
• Promotes personal safety and a safe environment for clients by observing infection control practices, following our guidelines, and reporting unsafe situations to your supervisor
• Reports any change in the patient’s mental or physical condition or home situation to the Registered Nurse and members of the interdisciplinary team

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 18 years old
• Completed High School or earned Equivalency Diploma
• Current CNA certification in the State of LOCATION
• Minimum of six (6) months’ work experience in a direct care setting
• CPR Certified
• Have dependable transportation, current driver’s license, and auto insurance
