Job summary

St. Joseph Hospice in Alexandria, LA is hiring a Full-Time Hospice Aide CNA to join our patient-care team.

The role supports personal care, assists with homemaking, and collaborates with an interdisciplinary team while delivering compassionate, high-quality care in a hospice setting. Qualifications include 18+ years, high school diploma or GED, CPR certification, reliable transportation, and at least six months of direct care experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18 and completed high school (or equivalent).
• Successful completion of a formal certification training program or written skills test.
• Minimum of six months’ work experience in a direct care setting.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Have dependable transportation, valid driver’s license and auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provide patients with personal care and homemaking assistance in accordance with state and federal regulations.
• Serve as an active member of the interdisciplinary care team.
• Communicate and follow up with supervisors and coworkers regarding patient needs, care, and concerns.
• Foster positive relationships with patients, families, and facility staff.
• Mileage reimbursement is provided.
