Job summary

Optimal Care is seeking a Hospice After Hours Registered Nurse for a 7-on/7-off night rotation, with travel within the Lansing area to care for patients at home or in facilities. The role emphasizes autonomous clinical decision-making, compassionate end-of-life care, and collaboration with the hospice team.

Typical schedule includes 5pm–8am shifts, with training in the first 2–4 weeks, and a robust benefits package including PTO, insurance, and retirement options.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Diploma, Associate or Baccalaureate School of Nursing.
• Current State License as a Registered Nurse.
• Minimum 1 year experience as a nurse in a clinical care setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled hospice nursing care to patients in homes, facilities, or nursing homes.
• Respond to urgent needs during overnight hours.
• Collaborate with physicians, hospice leadership and the interdisciplinary team.
