Job summary

Compassus is seeking an Admissions Coordinator to streamline patient referrals, coordinate admissions, and input data into our systems. The role involves collaborating with physicians, nurses, and care teams to ensure a smooth admission process and timely patient onboarding.

You will handle referrals, schedule consent and RN assessment visits, and support marketing efforts with referral sources. Strong communication and knowledge of payer processes are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 2–3 years of related experience preferred.
• Experience communicating with physicians, nurses and healthcare personnel sought.
• Experience in insurance and Medicare/Medicaid billing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receives and processes referrals from physicians, patients, families, and community.
• Contacts physicians to secure an admission order; ensures RN presence or script for verbal orders if needed.
• Schedules appointments for informed consent and RN assessment visits.
• Enters admission data into a third‑party system and completes chart in a timely manner.
• Markets hospice services and maintains relationships with referral sources.
• Provides back-up support for Hospice Care Consultant and coordinates with IDT.
