Job summary

DC Army National Guard seeks a Horizontal Construction Engineer to operate bulldozers, roadgraders, and other heavy equipment to clear sites for roads, airfields, and buildings.

You will train on the job and in the classroom, earn a paycheck while you learn, and gain access to tuition assistance, health care, retirement benefits, and veteran programs. This role offers outdoor fieldwork and civilian career pathways after training.

Qualifications

• Must be enlisted in the Army National Guard.
• Must be at least a high school junior or have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must be between 17 and 35 years old.
• Must pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards.
• Citizenship requirements apply per NATIONALGUARD.com.

Responsibilities

• Level earth for runways and roadbeds.
• Clear, excavate, and dig areas of construction sites.
• Spread fill material and transport heavy equipment.
• Move heavy building materials with cranes.
• Assist in combat engineer missions.
