Job summary

DC Army National Guard is seeking Horizontal Construction Engineers to clear sites and prepare runways and roadbeds. You will operate bulldozers, roadgraders, and other heavy equipment to support construction projects.

You will learn to level earth, excavate and move materials, and assist in combat engineer missions while training for a civilian construction career. Drill weekends provide hands-on skills and pay.

Qualifications

• Military enlistment in the Army National Guard.
• High school diploma or GED accepted.
• Ages 17–35 to enlist.
• Must pass a physical exam.
• Must meet citizenship requirements.

Responsibilities

• Level earth for runways and roadbeds.
• Clear, excavate, and dig construction sites.
• Spread fill material and move heavy materials.
• Transport heavy equipment and assist in combat engineer missions.
