Job summary

DC Army National Guard is seeking a Horizontal Construction Engineer to clear sites for roads, airfields, or buildings. You’ll operate heavy equipment like bulldozers and roadgraders to remove obstacles and level earth for construction projects.

You’ll gain hands-on training, earn while you learn, and qualify for tuition assistance. The role includes Basic and Advanced Individual Training with pay during drills and retirement benefits for part-time service.

Qualifications

• Must enlist in the Army National Guard.
• Must be 17–35 years old and meet fitness standards.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Pass physical exam and meet citizenship requirements.

Responsibilities

• Level earth for runways and roadbeds.
• Clear, excavate, and dig construction sites.
• Spread fill material and move heavy materials with equipment.
• Assist combat engineer missions as needed.
