Job summary

DC Army National Guard seeks a Horizontal Construction Engineer to clear obstacles and prepare sites for road, airfield, and building projects. You will operate bulldozers, roadgraders and other heavy equipment to clear the way for construction.

Your training will develop construction methods and engineering skills, with certifications that enable civilian career paths. Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training are included, with pay during training.

Qualifications

• Must enlist in the Army National Guard.
• Must be at least a junior in high school or have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must be between ages 17 and 35.

Responsibilities

• Level earth for runways and roadbeds.
• Clear, excavate, and dig areas of construction sites.
• Transport heavy materials and operate cranes.
