Job summary

DC Army National Guard is seeking Horizontal Construction Engineers to operate bulldozers, roadgraders, and other heavy equipment to clear sites for roads, airfields, and buildings. You will level earth, clear, excavate, and move heavy materials, supporting combat engineer missions while training for civilian construction careers.

Training includes nine weeks of Basic Training and nine weeks of Advanced Individual Training.

Qualifications

• Enlistment in Army National Guard required.
• Age 17–35.
• Must pass physical exam.
• Citizenship requirements apply.

Responsibilities

• Analyze grade stakes and place them.
• Cut and spread fill with scraper.
• Level earth for runways and roadbeds.
• Clear and excavate areas of construction sites.
