Job summary

The DC Army National Guard is seeking a Horizontal Construction Engineer to clear obstacles for roads, airfields, and buildings. You’ll operate bulldozers, roadgraders, and other heavy equipment to support construction projects.

Responsibilities include leveling earth for runways and roadbeds, clearing and digging areas, transporting materials with cranes, and supporting combat engineer missions through field work.

Qualifications

• Must be at least a high school graduate or GED.
• Age 17–35, able to pass a physical exam and meet legal/moral standards.
• Must be enlisted in the Army National Guard.
• Maintenance and repair of equipment.
• Identification of soil types and placement of grade stakes.

Responsibilities

• Analyze the information on grade stakes and placing them.
• Cut and spread fill material with scraper.
• Operate bulldozers, roadgraders and other heavy equipment to clear sites for construction.
