Job summary

Stantec in Honolulu seeks a Structural Engineer to work independently on small projects and as part of larger teams under a Senior Engineer. You will evaluate, specify engineered systems, and coordinate with architects and other engineering disciplines.

Qualified candidates have at least 3 years of experience, a Bachelor's in Engineering, proficiency with Autodesk Revit, CSI/RISA/RAM, and strong communication with Owners. Master’s degree and licensing are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required; Master’s Degree preferred.
• Structural Engineering license is preferred.
• Experience with modeling software (Autodesk Revit).
• Experience with general business software (Microsoft Office suite).
• Experience with industry standard Structural Engineering software (CSI, RISA, RAM, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Independently complete calculations and drawings for small projects.
• Development of job specific specifications independently for less complex projects.
• Works with and coordinates with architectural, interiors, and other engineering disciplines for coordination of the project.
• Independently perform Construction Administration duties including completing field observations reports, responding to RFIs, submittal reviews, and evaluating contractor change orders.
• Perform calculations using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.
• Communicate design issues and solutions with the design team and Owner clients.
• Understand industry standard design processes and understanding of construction means and methods.
• Work within project scope, budgets, and design approach to deliver projects to clients on time, on budget, and at a high level of client service.
• Assist with development of design standards.
