Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Structural Designer in Anchorage, AK to work independently on small and medium projects and lead larger projects. You will evaluate, select, and specify engineered systems, coordinate with multiple disciplines, and supervise junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 or more years of related experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Professional Engineering license is required; Structural Engineering license is preferred.
• Experience with modeling software (Autodesk Revit).
• Experience with general business software (Microsoft Office suite).
• Experience with industry standard Structural Engineering software (CSI, RISA, RAM, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Independently complete calculations and drawings for small and medium projects.
• Lead junior engineers in complex projects.
• Coordinate with architectural interiors and other engineering disciplines.
• Conduct Construction Administration duties including field observations, RFIs, submittal reviews, and change orders.
• Perform calculations using standard and proprietary software.
• Communicate design issues and solutions to the design team and Owner clients.
