Job summary

Stantec’s Buildings team invites a Structural Project Engineer to work independently on small projects and as part of larger teams under a Senior Structural Engineer. You will evaluate, select, and specify engineered systems for projects with a focus on seismic design and constructability.

You will collaborate with architects, interior designers, and other engineers, perform field observations, RFIs, submittal reviews, and ensure timely delivery within budget while upholding client service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required; master’s degree preferred.
• Professional Engineering license required; Structural Engineering license preferred.
• Experience with modeling software (Autodesk Revit).
• Experience with general business software (Microsoft Office).
• Experience with industry standard Structural Engineering software (CSI, RISA, RAM, etc.).
• Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Independently complete calculations and drawings for small projects.
• Development of job specific specifications independently for less complex projects.
• Coordinate with architectural, interiors, and other engineering disciplines for coordination.
• Independently perform Construction Administration duties including field reports, RFIs, submittal reviews, and evaluating change orders.
• Perform calculations using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.
• Communicate design issues and solutions with the design team and Owner clients.
• Understand industry standard design processes and construction means/methods.
• Work within project scope, budgets, and design approach to deliver on time and on budget.
