Job summary

County of Los Angeles is seeking qualified staff development specialists to design and deliver training across homeless services programs. The role focuses on assessing learning needs, developing curricula, and coordinating with internal teams and external providers.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited college or university is required.
• One year of staff experience with responsibility for conducting training regarding homeless response system programs.
• Experience developing and designing training curriculum and engaging training materials (e.g. slide decks, job aids).

Responsibilities

• Conducts needs assessments to identify educational courses or activities and determine staff training needs to meet program goals and objectives.
• Develops training programs for staff and contracted providers on best practices and service delivery for homeless populations.
• Develops and maintains lesson plans, curricula, and instructional materials to update staff knowledge and program requirements.
• Coordinates in-person and virtual training programs, schedules logistics, and tracks attendance.
• Collaborates with external training providers and maintains training records and documentation.
• Creates evaluation studies and needs assessments to measure training effectiveness and guide improvements.
• Participates in administrative studies or research projects as required.
• Supports development and delivery of trainings to promote consistent system use and better outcomes.
