Job summary

Turning Point Community Programs seeks an Outreach Specialist to engage non-enrolled adults experiencing homelessness in Sacramento. The role focuses on field outreach for 30 hours weekly, building trust with clients and coordinating services.

Responsibilities include maintaining caseloads, making 30+ contacts weekly, and guiding clients toward housing, health care, and job readiness. Requires high school diploma and California driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; related life experience in mental health is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Dedicates 30 hours per week to street and community outreach at homeless shelters, service agencies, and related sites.
• Reconnects with members who have lost contact for 30+ days.
• Maintains a continuous outreach caseload of 15 non-enrolled individuals; and 3–5 enrolled as needed.
• Makes 30+ face-to-face contacts per week with clients in outreach settings.
• In the absence of the Team Leader, provides leadership and direction for clients as assigned.
• Advocates for access to mental health treatment, medical care, housing, food and clothing as indicated.
