Job summary

Turning Point Community Programs in Sacramento seeks a part-time Outreach Specialist to serve adults experiencing homelessness under the Homeless Intervention Program. You will conduct street and community outreach at shelters and service agencies where the target population spends time.

Responsibilities include reconnecting with clients, maintaining caseloads, developing service plans, and advocating for access to mental health care, housing, and essentials.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; relevant life experience in mental health.
• California driver’s license and current vehicle insurance/registration required if driving.
• Reliable transportation pass vehicle safety inspection if older than five years.

Responsibilities

• Dedicates 30 hours per week to street and community outreach at shelters, service agencies, and other sites.
• Reconnects with members after 30+ days.
• Maintains outreach caseload of 15 non-enrolled individuals.
• Advocates for clients to access mental health care, housing, food and clothing as needed.
• Provides after-hours, on-call coverage to program clients.
