Job summary

Aimbridge Hospitality seeks an Assistant General Manager for Home2 Suites Midland to oversee hotel operations, supervise multiple departments, and drive profitability while maintaining high guest standards.

As an overtime-eligible manager, you will coach Guest Services staff, manage budgets, report performance, and foster a friendly, service-first culture that makes every guest feel at home.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive hotel experience (Rooms or F&B) or a degree with related experience.
• Supervisory background required.
• Ability to stay calm and objective under pressure.
• Must hold or obtain Food Handlers, Alcohol Awareness, CPR, and First Aid certifications.

Responsibilities

• Supervise multiple departments and drive hotel profitability by managing teams and partnering with the GM.
• Proactively spot challenges and tackle them to keep hotel operations flowing smoothly.
• Recruit, hire, and train Guest Services staff; support development for all team members.
• Listen actively, understand concerns, and maintain clear communication with colleagues and guests.
• Work with financial data and reporting to support hotel operations.
• Utilize Windows OS for management and reporting.
• Set professional standards for appearance and grooming.
• Bring a friendly, service-focused attitude to each guest interaction.

This position is an overtime eligible manager (OEM), overtime does apply and is calculated accordingly.

KEY SKILLS/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Captain of Collaboration: Supervise multiple departments and drive hotel profitability by skillfully managing teams and partnering with the General Manager to keep everything running smoothly.

• Talent Scout & Coach: Play a key role in recruiting, hiring, and training Guest Services staff, and help all team members—from managers to hourly employees—grow through exciting development programs and ongoing training.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• At least five years of progressive hotel experience (Rooms or Food & Beverage), or a four-year degree with 2–3 years, or a two-year degree with 3–4 years of related experience.
• Supervisory background required.
• Ability to stay calm and objective under pressure.
• Must hold or obtain certifications such as Food Handlers, Alcohol Awareness, CPR, and First Aid.
