Job summary

Optum, via CAREtenders Westborough in Massachusetts, is hiring a Physical Therapist Assistant to perform treatment, provide exercise instruction, and educate patients under the plan of care.

You will follow state PT laws, work with the supervising PT, and collaborate with the healthcare team to support patient well‑being. The role requires weekend rotation; full‑time weekday schedule with comprehensive benefits within the UnitedHealth Group family.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.
• Current driver's license and access to a dependable vehicle or public transportation.
• Available to work a weekend rotation.

Responsibilities

• Follow state laws governing the provision of physical therapy in home care and work under the supervising PT; propose changes to the plan of care to the supervising PT.
• Instructs and aids patients in active and passive exercise, gait, ADL, transfer, and prosthetic training.
• Observes, records, and reports patient responses and coordinates care with the healthcare team.
• Educates patient, family, caregiver, and other health team members within the PT scope.
• Function effectively in diverse home settings regardless of patient background.
