Job summary

Mosaic invites compassionate individuals in Iowa to welcome and live with someone who has an intellectual disability, becoming part of a supportive household and family dynamic.

You’ll help with daily living, community participation, and personal growth while ensuring safety and belonging for the person you support.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be a current resident of Iowa.
• Own or rent your own home, apartment, condo, or townhouse.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and current vehicle insurance.
• Internet access and basic computer skills.
• Experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Supporting daily living skills such as cooking, budgeting, cleaning, and decision-making.
• Assisting with medication administration and medical appointments.
• Helping someone build connections, participate in their community, and experience a sense of belonging.
• Providing transportation and support with daily activities as needed.
• Maintaining documentation and communication with the Mosaic support team.
• Helping someone build confidence, develop independence, and pursue personal goals.

Location:

Must reside in Iowa (Must own or rent your current home);

Limited availability in in the Des Moines and surrounding Metro areas

Supporting:

You are welcoming an individual with an intellectual disability to move into your home and live with you full-time as a part of your household and family dynamic

Average Annual Income:

Approximately $80,000

(federally tax-free)

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• You must be a current resident of the state of Iowa (due to state funding restrictions).
• Own/Rent your own home, apartment, condo, or townhouse
• Active homeowner’s or renter’s insurance
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and current vehicle insurance
• Internet access and basic computer skills
• Ability to complete required screenings, background checks, and training
• Experience is preferred but not required.
