Advanced Infusion Care is looking for an experienced and motivated Intake Coordinator to join our dynamic team! The role is full-time and involves providing patient access to medications and therapies by contacting insurance companies, verifying insurance eligibility, benefits, coverage, and authorizations.

The ideal candidate should have excellent communication and time management skills, attention to detail, knowledge of insurance benefit verification, and compliance with regulations.

Required Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED; minimum 2 years’ experience in customer service, medical billing, benefits verification, or related fields.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Enter demographic, physician, insurance, authorization, and other information into patient profiles.
  2. Review incoming prescription orders and attach to patient profiles.
  3. Contact patients or physicians for missing information.
  4. Conduct benefit investigations and evaluate plans.
  5. Obtain documentation for prior authorization submissions.
  6. Follow up on authorizations until approved.
  7. Communicate with patients, physicians, and departments on authorization status.
  8. Handle denials, appeals, and communicate coverage details.
  9. Update departments on the intake process.
  10. Notify patients about coverage and payment responsibilities.
  11. Assist patients with financial hardship paperwork and co-pay cards.
  12. Document all interactions in patient records.
  13. Identify in-network providers and communicate with patients and physicians.
  14. Provide leadership and training to associates; resolve difficult cases.
  15. Develop and document workflow processes and participate in meetings.
  16. Train staff on software and processes; ensure compliance with regulations.
  17. Maintain quality and productivity standards.
  18. Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Experience
  • Home Infusion Coordination experience preferred.
  • Effective communication, decision-making, problem-solving, and independent work skills.
  • Knowledge of authorization processes and systems.
  • Leadership abilities and team-oriented attitude.
  • Attention to detail, prioritization, computer proficiency, and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
