Remote position

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Intake Coordinator to join our team. This full-time role involves providing patient access to medications and therapies by contacting insurance companies, verifying insurance eligibility, benefits, coverage, and managing authorizations.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and time management skills, attention to detail, and in-depth knowledge of insurance benefit verification, working in compliance with regulations.

Required Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in customer service, medical billing and coding, benefits verification, or healthcare roles
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Enter patient demographic and insurance information into profiles
  • Review incoming prescriptions and attach to patient profiles
  • Contact patients or physicians for missing information
  • Conduct benefit investigations and evaluate plans
  • Obtain clinical documentation for prior authorization
  • Follow up on authorizations until approved
  • Communicate with patients, physicians, and departments about benefits and authorization status
  • Handle denials, appeals, and provide follow-up details
  • Coordinate with other departments and notify patients of coverage/payment responsibilities
  • Assist patients with financial hardship documentation and co-pay assistance
  • Document all interactions in patient records
  • Identify in-network providers and communicate with patients and physicians
  • Provide leadership and training to team members
  • Develop and standardize workflow processes
  • Participate in meetings and training sessions
  • Serve as subject matter expert for software and process updates
  • Ensure compliance with policies and regulations
  • Maintain quality and productivity standards
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Home Infusion Coordination experience
  • Effective communication with patients, physicians, coworkers
  • Decision-making, problem-solving, independent work skills
  • Knowledge of authorization processes and healthcare systems
  • Leadership and training abilities
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft applications
