Job summary

Lowe’s is hiring a Sales Specialist in Austin, TX. You’ll meet customers, discuss project needs, and help transform ideas into home improvement results. You will become a product expert, explain specifications, features, and financing options, and close sales while delivering exceptional service.

You will work in departments such as Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Nursery, Millwork, and more. The role emphasizes teamwork, growth, and community involvement.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year in customer-facing sales or 6 months Lowe’s retail experience (or 3 years external sales or 18 months Lowe’s retail if education is not met).
• 1 year of experience in sales or customer service in a sales environment with goals or metrics.
• Able to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic.
• Able to stand and sit for prolonged periods.
• Minimally lift 25 lbs unassisted or over 25 lbs with assistance.
• Obtain sales-related licensure or registration if required by state; Lowe’s supports funding.

Responsibilities

• Provide SMART customer service by understanding needs and communicating product advantages.
• Serve as a point of contact for customers and vendors, provide estimates, schedule installers, track orders, and follow up on completion.
• If in Pro Department, focus on external accounts and outside sales and services.
• Monitor inventory levels, work with vendors and other stores to replenish stock.
• Perform price reviews according to policies and maintain pricing documentation.
• Support checkout, calls, pages, and requests for assistance.
• Train department associates on the floor and coach development needs.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
